Emm-Tech short course
Learn some of the magic of Emmett and acquire a new skill - in just 8 hours!
The Emm-Tech course was devised by Ross Emmett to give people the opportunity to help friends, family and clients in pain. It can be taught to anyone: therapists, clients, carers, parents, teachers, sports/fitness coaches and medical or sports professionals.
In this course, you will learn twelve moves specially selected from the Emmett Technique professional course and, along with your manual, you will receive a DVD in which Ross Emmett demonstrates each move, to help you refresh your memory.
What will I get from the course?
You will be getting a wonderful “First Aid Kit”, which will serve you in all sorts of situations, along with a DVD to act as a quick reminder if you are unsure of the moves. Here is a more detailed list of what you will be learning:
- Neck rotation – a fast and gentle correction which helps when a person has a stiff neck and cannot easily turn it from side to side. Also helps with new babies who are having difficulty feeding
- Pec Minor – used for shoulder problems, also tension in the upper back and where a person cannot reach behind them
- Back Release – Releases where there is a “dragging” under the arm when lifted, also great for addressing lower back pains and pain around the sacro-iliac area
- AC/Biceps – used to release the shoulder when there is a restriction on lifting the arm up to the ear. Superb for helping all sportspeople, those with a “frozen shoulder” and weightlifters who may have difficulty straightening their arm properly
- Diaphragm – to help with breathing. Helps to increase lung usage and allow client to breathe more easily and deeply. Also helpful for colicky babies.
- Forearm/grip – helps improve grip strength, also can help with elbow pain, and RSI type injuries
- Knee Flexion – where there is difficulty or tightness in squatting or climbing stairs
- Knee/hip pain – releases the tight band of muscle down the outside of the leg
- Hamstring release – a way of releasing tight hamstrings – immediately! Allows sportspeople to return quickly to the field of play
- Lower leg release – for pain in calf muscles or lower leg, fluid retention and to assist balance
- Feet – two different foot moves to assist balance and core stability, giving the foot an even contact with the ground.
Don’t forget that the result from these moves is usually instant – you will be able to see the changes for yourself after only a short demonstration and practice. You will also benefit from the Tutor’s personal knowledge of anatomy, health issues and injury, learning how your clothing choices can affect your pain or injuries.
How much does it cost?
The course fee is £95 per person (€120 in Eire). This includes your tuition, course manual, certificate and DVD. Those repeating the course qualify for a discount of 50%.
Where can I learn it?
Debbie runs courses all around the British Isles, often on demand for particular groups. Please keep an eye on this page for dates, or contact Debbie to enquire. If you are able to put together a group of 8 or more people, we can arrange your course on a date and at a venue to suit you.
Feedback from previous courses
Thank you so much for our lovely day last Sunday.
I’ve had the chance to use many of the moves we learned on clients this week, with very good results and Di and I did a swop today and I found the work so relaxing and wonderful to receive. I’m so glad we’ve learned it.
I get the impression that the healing can go back very far in our history mending very old injuries.
Di and I like it so much that we may want to do the practitioner course at some point. We both think, though that we’ll do your day again sometime that’s convenient before making up our minds to take our leaning further.
So, thank you for sharing Ross’s wonderful work with us so successfully.
All good wishes,
Susi

I did really enjoy the course and the things we practiced work like a dream. I’ve found using them with some Bowen has a very strong impact. Emm-Tech has come at just the right time for me – I’ve been re-evaluating how I do Bowen and apply it and how it fits together with other bits and pieces I’ve learned. I think the approach to which muscles etc impact on physical functionality will make me a much stronger therapist. One question I should have asked at the time was what the Emmett finger pressure felt like. I’ve found really quite light seems to work best.
Looking forward to the bigger course; many thanks for the weekend
David

Hello Debbie
I was in Mold at your Emm Tech day in May.
I have already found the moves have brought MIRACULOUS results to a few people I have tried them on. One being my sister who has rheumatoid arthritis. She is now SWINGING her arms over her head and buzzing with energy!
The messages have all been Thank you ,thank you, thank you and I pass them on to you.
If you do get to Aberdovey for another Emm Tech day, I will be more than happy to come.
The moves you did on me for balance have made a lasting and dramatic improvement to my walking and my general fitness is greatly improving because of it...
So thank you X 3 X 3 X 3
Mandi
Thank you Debbie and indeed Judith for a fabulous day in Mold. The work which you taught us has literally changed my life and my practice. Thanks again Debbie for the kind way in which you helped me through the day, and hope to meet again soon
